<Adjustment of an anterior guidance on the Articulator >

By a clinical case to go into many teeth of the incisal, a dentist surely makes a temporary crown. When a technician makes a prosthesis, the study model is necessary by all means.
It transfers the anterior guidance from the study model. But, the temporary crown made in the mouth is very vague. A patient's mandibular position and the mandibular movement change to the low one to the low part.
But, even if a patient can recognize that a mandibular position is high or low, it is common that it can't be recognized to the direction of the mandibular movement. Therefore, the anterior guidance given to it by a temporary crown lacks reliability very much.
But, the problem is very much dissolved by adjusting it on the Articulator.

1) First, a study model is mounted in the Articulator. On that occasion, it becomes a premise that it mounts with the environment that a working model is the same as the study model. An occlusion rim in the dentate arch is effective in the case as well. By using the occlusion rim in the dentate Arch used when working model mounted, you can mount a study model.

2) Next time, it has the check of the protrusive movement. On that occasion, return a left-right Bennet angle to the zero. In other words, when a protrusive movement was done, try so that you can move it straight only in the protrusion. Then, the error adjusted in the mouth of the patient is understood on the Articulator.
A patient's mandibular movement shifts in the low direction. It is functioning in the angle. Therefore, adjust it in accordance with the low angle. In other words, adjust it until all incisal teeth touch each other equally.
Make it an angle of sagittal incisal path that the guide of the protrusive movement which it could get as a result.
Even when you make custom incisal table, do this work by all means.

If it doesn't do so, the anterior guidance of the prosthesis which you made has the possibility that it becomes a much severer angle than it of the provisional restoration.

This is the adjustment of the angle of sagittal incisal path in the protrusive movement.

3) Next time, you do the adjustment of the lateral incisal path. On that occasion, if there is a check bite, you return an angle of lateral condyle path to the value. If it is not here, you will make an angle of lateral condyle path a mean.

If you finish the adjustment of the angle of lateral condyle path , you move an Articulator to the position of the canine tooth reproduced by the provisional restoration, and adjust an angle of lateral incisal path.

The above is how to adjust the anterior guidance which the model for the diagnosis of the provisional restoration was used for.
